These terms are the deal between you and SilentCut for using silentcut.ai, SilentCut Studio, the SilentCut plugins and the SilentCut API.
Who we are
These terms of service (the “terms”) govern your use of silentcut.ai, SilentCut Studio, the SilentCut plugins and the SilentCut API (together, the “service”), operated by SilentCut (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service. Questions go to james@silentcut.ai.
The service
SilentCut cuts silence, filler words and repeated takes out of talking recordings. The tools run on our servers on your recording's audio and return their results to the editor or the plugin you used; you decide what to keep. We may change, add or retire features as the service evolves.
Your account
You need an account to use the tools. Keep your password and your API keys to yourself: whatever is done with them counts as done by you. Tell us at once if you think someone else has them; revoking a key on your account page stops it within a minute.
Plans and payments
The Free plan runs the Silence Remover, one job at a time. The Editor and Agency plans add Speech Cleanup and the Best-Take Selector, with a number of AI hours each month, as the pricing page describes. AI hours reset every month, on yearly plans too; hours left over do not carry into the next month. A recording counts once a month, whichever AI tools run on it. A job that does not fit the hours left is refused before it runs.
Plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage subscription on your account page; the plan stays until the end of the period already paid. Moving to a larger plan takes effect at once and charges the difference for the rest of the period; moving to a smaller one takes effect at the end of the period. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again and your plan stays meanwhile; if it is never paid, the account returns to the Free plan.
The price you first subscribe to a plan at is yours for good. We never raise it on your subscription, and if you cancel and later come back to the same plan and billing, you pay that price again.
Refunds
Ask within 14 days of a payment and we refund it in full. Write to james@silentcut.ai from the email address you paid with.
API keys and plugins
The plugins and other clients use the service with an API key from your account page. The Free and Editor plans hold three active keys at a time, the Agency plan as many as it needs, and every key draws on your account's AI hours. A key connects to one plugin install at a time. Do not share keys outside the people your account is for, and do not use them to get around a plan's limits.
Your recordings and results
Your recordings and the results the tools make from them are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only as needed to provide the service, including sending them to the providers our privacy policy names. You confirm you have the rights to the recordings you upload. The results are automated suggestions: review them before you publish.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or upload recordings you have no right to process.
- Interfere with the service, probe or test it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or work around its limits, plans or API key rules.
- Copy, resell or rebuild the service, or scrape the site in bulk to republish its content, including to feed systems that reproduce it as their own.
- Misrepresent an affiliation with SilentCut.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Our content and brand
Everything on the site (text, design, graphics, software) belongs to SilentCut unless credited otherwise. You are welcome to quote excerpts with attribution and a link back.
“SilentCut” and the SilentCut wordmark are our brand. Premiere Pro is a trademark of Adobe and DaVinci Resolve of Blackmagic Design; other names and marks belong to their owners.
Feedback
If you send us feedback or suggestions, by email, on Discord or anywhere else, you agree that we may use them freely, without confidentiality, credit, or compensation obligations.
Third-party services and links
The service relies on providers our privacy policy names and links to services we do not control, including our Discord server, which is governed by Discord's own terms and guidelines on top of our community rules.
No warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that its results are accurate or that it runs without interruption. Articles and guides are general information, not professional advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SilentCut is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, revenue or profits, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the rights consumers hold under Quebec law.
Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from your account page. Deleting it ends its plan at once, stops its keys, and deletes its results; it cannot be undone. Cancelling a plan does not delete the account.
Changes, governing law, and contact
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The “Last updated” date above changes with every revision; for a change that matters, we tell account holders before it takes effect, and continued use after that means you accept it.
